Welcome to Car AI ("we," "our," or "us"). Car AI is a mobile application that lets you reimagine your car's exterior and interior with AI — generating custom designs and short transformation videos from a photo you provide. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Key Privacy Commitments:
- You sign in anonymously — we do not require your name, email, or a password
- The photos you upload are used only to generate your requested design and are not stored long-term by our AI providers
- Your generated designs and videos are stored locally on your device
- We do NOT sell your personal data and do NOT use your photos to train AI models
- We do NOT collect face data or biometric information — Car AI is about vehicles, not people
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account & Identity
Car AI uses anonymous authentication (Firebase Anonymous Auth). There is no login screen. We do not collect your name, email address, or password. When you first open the App, an anonymous user identifier is generated to keep track of your credit balance and sync your account across launches on the same device.
2.2 Photos You Provide
- Uploaded car photos: Images you take or select to generate a design or video. These are processed only to fulfill your request and are not retained long-term by our AI providers (see Section 4).
- Generated content: AI-generated images and videos, which are stored locally on your device.
Please upload photos of vehicles only. Car AI is designed for car exterior and interior customization. We do not collect, request, or use facial recognition or any biometric data.
2.3 User Input
- Prompts & selections: The styles, colors, wheels, and text instructions you choose for a design.
- Assistant messages: Text you send to the in-app design assistant.
2.4 Information Collected Automatically
- Device type, model, and operating system version
- App version and anonymized usage events (which features are used)
- Credit balance and generation history (tied to your anonymous ID)
- Anonymized crash and error logs
2.5 Purchases
When you buy a subscription or a credit pack, the transaction is handled by Apple. We receive a purchase confirmation and subscription/credit status through RevenueCat. We never receive or store your payment card details.

4. How Your Photos Are Processed (AI)
Important: Car AI uses two AI providers. Image designs are generated with Google's Gemini models via Firebase AI Logic. Transformation videos are generated with fal.ai (Veo 3.1).
4.1 Image Designs (Google Gemini / Firebase AI Logic)
- Your photo is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to Google's Gemini model through the Firebase AI Logic SDK.
- The model edits the car as you requested and returns the result to your device.
- Google processes the image only to generate your output and does not use Firebase AI Logic inputs to train its models. The image is not retained for our use.
4.2 Videos (fal.ai)
- For video generation, your photo and prompt are sent to fal.ai's secure servers via our Firebase Cloud Functions.
- fal.ai generates the clip and returns a URL; the finished video is downloaded to your device.
- fal.ai processes images only to generate your content, automatically deletes uploaded inputs shortly after processing, and does not use them to train models.
4.3 Local Storage
- Generated images and videos are stored in the app's local storage on your device.
- You may optionally save results to your device's Photo Library.
- Finished videos are cached locally so they play without re-downloading.

7. Data Security
- All data in transit is protected with TLS encryption (HTTPS).
- Backend data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure with industry-standard security.
- Access to backend systems is restricted and monitored.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights & Choices
- Delete generated content: Remove designs/videos in the Garage, or uninstall the app to remove all local data.
- Account deletion: Email us to request deletion of your anonymous account and associated backend data.
- Notifications: Manage in iOS Settings > Car AI > Notifications.
- Tracking: We respect iOS App Tracking Transparency.
California (CCPA/CPRA) and EEA/UK (GDPR) residents have rights to access, correct, delete, and port their data, and to object to or restrict processing. Since we do not sell personal information, opt-out of sale does not apply. To exercise any right, contact us below.
9. Children's Privacy
Car AI is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). App Store purchases require age verification through Apple ID. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers (Google, fal.ai, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, Apple) operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and Data Processing Agreements.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
