Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mochi ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application Mochi: Cat Care AI ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for your information is Mochi App. You can reach us at support@mochi-app.com.

2. Data We Collect

Information you provide

• Your cat's profile (name, age, breed, sex, weight, lifestyle, health concerns)
• Photos of your cat (general photos, eye/skin/dental/ear scans, litter box photos, body condition photos)
• Audio recordings of your cat's vocalizations (for translator feature)
• Journal notes and behavior observations
• Medication and vaccination records
• Daily check-in responses (mood, eating, litter)
• Expense tracking entries

Information collected automatically

• Anonymous user ID generated by Firebase Authentication
• Device information (model, OS version, app version, language)
• App usage statistics and feature interaction counts
• Crash reports and diagnostic information
• Subscription status and purchase history

We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other directly identifying personal information. The App uses anonymous authentication only.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Provide the service: Process AI scans, generate analyses, store your cat's records, send notifications
• Improve the App: Aggregate usage analytics to understand which features are valuable
• Diagnose problems: Crash reports help us fix bugs
• Manage subscriptions: Process and verify in-app purchases via RevenueCat
• Protect security: App Check verifies requests come from genuine app installations

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with marketing partners.

4. Third-Party Services

Firebase (Google LLC)

We use Firebase services from Google: Authentication (anonymous IDs), Firestore (data storage), Cloud Storage (photos/audio), Analytics (usage statistics), Crashlytics (crash reports), App Check (integrity), Cloud Functions (backend), and AI Logic with Gemini models (image and audio analysis). Google acts as data processor under our instructions. Google's data handling: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat processes anonymous user ID and purchase events. RevenueCat acts as data processor under our DPA. Privacy: revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple

App Store handles payment processing and subscription billing. Apple's privacy policy applies to those transactions.

5. Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers (regions managed by Firebase). All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Photos and audio are uploaded to Firebase Storage with App Check enforcement. Firestore data is protected by Security Rules that ensure each anonymous user can only access their own data.

6. Your Rights

GDPR (EU/UK residents)

• Right to access — request a copy of your data
• Right to rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — delete all your data (see Section 7)
• Right to data portability — receive your data in machine-readable format
• Right to object to processing
• Right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority

Legal basis for processing: consent (you install and use the App) and legitimate interest (improving the service, preventing fraud).

CCPA / CPRA (California residents)

• Right to know what categories of personal information we collect
• Right to delete personal information
• Right to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

KVKK (Turkey residents)

Under Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, objection, and complaint to the Personal Data Protection Authority.

7. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time:

1. Open the App
2. Go to Profile
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account & data
4. Confirm the action

All your cats' profiles, scans, logs, photos, audio recordings, and account credentials will be permanently removed within 30 days. Subscription cancellation must be done separately via App Store settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Mochi is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Tracking and Cookies

The App does not use cookies. We do not track users across third-party apps and websites. We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission. Firebase Analytics collects anonymous usage data within the App only.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
