The short version. Your health data — calories, weight, steps, workouts — is read from Apple Health, stays on your iPhone, and is never uploaded to our servers. Balanz has no accounts, no ads, and never sells your data.
Balanz ("the app") is developed by Alperen Çiftlikçi. You can reach us any time at ciftlikcialperen@gmail.com.
With your permission, Balanz reads the following from Apple Health: active and resting energy, dietary energy and macronutrients, water, body mass, body fat percentage, steps, exercise minutes, workouts, activity rings, resting heart rate, and your date of birth, biological sex and height.
With your permission, Balanz also writes the food, water and weight entries you add in the app back to Apple Health, so your other apps stay in sync.
This data is processed on your device and stored on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, not backed up to our infrastructure, and never used for advertising or sold to anyone. Deleting the app removes the copy Balanz holds; data in Apple Health itself is controlled by you in the Health app.
Balanz uses Google Firebase for a small amount of non-health data:
The app also communicates with RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and with the App Store to process purchases. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card information.
Balanz offers two optional AI features powered by Google Gemini through Firebase AI Logic:
Google processes these requests on our behalf and, under Firebase AI Logic terms, does not use them to train its models. If you never enable AI features, nothing is sent. The app works fully without them.
If you allow notifications, Balanz sends local reminders — an evening check-in, weigh-in prompts and a weekly report. These are scheduled on your device; no notification content is sent through our servers.
Balanz does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising identifiers. There is no third-party analytics or advertising SDK in the app.
Balanz is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
On-device data remains until you delete it or remove the app. The anonymous backend record is kept while your account exists and is deleted when you use Delete account.
If this policy changes materially we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
Balanz provides estimates for general wellness and fitness. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet or exercise.
