Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 8, 2026
Welcome to myClothes ("we," "our," "us," or "the App"). I am committed to protecting your privacy and want you to understand exactly how your information is handled when you use myClothes. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and how it is protected.
Summary: myClothes stores your wardrobe data and outfit photos directly on your device. When you use the AI Virtual Try-On feature, your selfie and chosen clothing photos are sent to Google's AI service (Gemini) for processing. Your data is not used to train AI models, is not sold, and is not shared with advertisers.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Wardrobe Photos: Photos of your clothing items, accessories, outfits, and (optionally) selfies you upload to the App. By default, these are stored locally on your device only.
- Item Details: Names, brands, prices, colors, materials, sizes, purchase dates, occasions, seasons, notes, wear count, and any other metadata you choose to add to your items and outfits.
- Custom Drawings: Icons you draw inside the App for custom categories or groups, stored as image files on your device.
- Authentication Information: When you launch the App, we sign you in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. No name, email, or password is required.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device model, iOS version, language, and basic technical details required for the App to function correctly.
- Usage Data: Anonymous information about which features are used and how often, used to identify bugs and improve the App.
- Crash Reports: If the App crashes, anonymized diagnostic data may be collected to help diagnose and fix issues.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Apple App Store: When you make in-app purchases or subscribe to premium features, Apple shares transaction confirmation with the App. We never see or store your payment card details.
- AI Service Provider (Google): When you use the AI Virtual Try-On feature, your selfie and selected clothing item photos are transmitted to Google's Gemini AI service for processing. Google processes this data only to generate the try-on result and does not use it to train AI models. Google's data handling is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
1.4 Face Data
Important: The App collects face data solely for the AI Virtual Try-On feature. This section explains exactly what is collected, how it is used, and how it is protected.
What Face Data Is Collected
When you use the Virtual Try-On feature, you provide a selfie photograph that includes your face and body. The App does not use facial recognition technology, does not create face templates or facial geometry maps, and does not extract biometric identifiers. The face data exists only as part of your full-body photograph — it is never isolated, analyzed, or processed separately from the rest of the image.
How Face Data Is Used
Your selfie (including your face) is used for one purpose only: to generate a realistic AI image of you wearing the clothing items you selected. The AI service (Google Gemini) receives your full photo and the clothing item photos, generates a combined try-on result image, and returns that result to your device. The face in the output image preserves your appearance so the try-on looks realistic. No other use is made of your face data — it is never used for facial recognition, identity verification, age estimation, emotion detection, advertising targeting, or any purpose other than generating the try-on image.
Third-Party Processing of Face Data
Your selfie (including face data) is transmitted to Google's Gemini AI service (operated by Google LLC) for processing. Google receives the photo, generates the try-on result, and returns it. Google processes this data solely to fulfill the image generation request. Google does not store your selfie permanently after processing is complete, does not use it to train AI models, and does not share it with other Google services or third parties. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and their AI data processing terms. No other third party receives your face data.
Storage of Face Data
Your original selfie and any generated try-on result images are stored locally on your device only, within the App's private sandbox storage. They are never uploaded to any server controlled by the developer. The only time your selfie leaves your device is during the transient Google Gemini API call described above, after which Google discards it.
Retention of Face Data
Locally on your device, your selfie is retained for as long as you choose to keep it in the App. You can delete it at any time from within the App, or by uninstalling the App (which removes all locally stored data). On Google's servers, your selfie is processed transiently and is not retained after the try-on image has been generated and returned to your device.
User Consent for Face Data
Before the App sends any photo (including face data) to Google's AI service for the first time, it displays an AI Data Consent popup that clearly explains: (1) what data will be sent, (2) who will process it (Google AI servers), and (3) that the data is not stored permanently and not used for AI training. You must explicitly agree before any face data is transmitted. You may decline, in which case no face data is sent and the Virtual Try-On feature is simply not available. You can use all other features of the App without providing face data.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information collected is used to:
- Provide Core Features: Display your wardrobe, save outfits, generate AI try-on images, plan calendar entries, and compute your style analytics.
- Improve the App: Understand which features are useful and which need to be reworked.
- Customer Support: Respond to questions and feedback you send to my support email.
- Security & Fraud Prevention: Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and technical exploits.
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.
3. How We Share Your Information
I do not sell your personal information. Your data may be shared in the following limited circumstances:
- Google (AI Try-On): When you use the Virtual Try-On feature, your selfie and selected clothing photos are sent to Google's Gemini AI service. The data is not stored permanently on Google's servers after processing and is not used to train models.
- Firebase (Google): Anonymous authentication, App Check, and (if used) cloud storage are provided by Firebase, a Google service. Firebase is bound by data-processing terms.
- Apple App Store: Subscription and purchase processing is handled by Apple under their own privacy policy.
- Legal Requirements: Information may be disclosed if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- With Your Consent: Information may be shared with third parties if you give explicit consent.
4. Data Storage and Security
4.1 Local Storage
The vast majority of your wardrobe data — clothing photos, item details, outfits, calendar entries, and drawn icons — is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage APIs. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly use a feature that requires network access (like Virtual Try-On).
4.2 Cloud Processing
When you use the Virtual Try-On feature, the necessary photos are temporarily transmitted to Google's Gemini API over an encrypted (TLS) connection. The processed result is returned to your device and saved locally.
4.3 Security Measures
- All network traffic is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
- Anonymous authentication is verified by Firebase App Check (App Attest) to prevent abuse.
- Local data is stored in your app's sandbox, isolated from other apps on your device.
- The App requests the minimum permissions needed (camera, photo library) and only when you trigger features that need them.
4.4 Data Retention
Your local wardrobe data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. When data is sent to Google's Gemini API for try-on processing, it is processed transiently and not retained for long-term storage by Google.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Because your data lives on your device, you already have full access to it through the App itself.
- Correction: Edit any item or outfit directly in the App.
- Deletion: Delete individual items, outfits, or the entire App from your device. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data.
- Opt-Out of AI Features: You can simply choose not to use the Virtual Try-On feature. The rest of the App works completely offline.
- Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent for any optional feature at any time by not using it.
6. Children's Privacy
myClothes is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact me and I will take steps to remove it.
7. International Data Transfers
If you use the Virtual Try-On feature, your data may be transferred to and processed by Google's servers in the United States or other countries where Google operates. These transfers are protected by Google's standard contractual clauses and applicable data protection frameworks.
8. Third-Party Services
8.1 Google Gemini (AI Processing)
The Virtual Try-On feature uses Google's Gemini AI. The following data is sent to Google when you use this feature:
- Your selfie photo
- Photos of the clothing items selected for the try-on
- Optional text instructions you provide
Google processes this data solely to generate the try-on image and does not use it to train AI models. The data is not stored permanently on Google's servers after processing. Google's handling of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
8.2 Firebase (Google)
The App uses Firebase Authentication (anonymous), Firebase App Check (App Attest), and Firebase Cloud Functions to securely manage credits and verify legitimate app instances. Firebase is operated by Google LLC and governed by Google's privacy terms.
8.3 Apple App Store
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies to all transactions and account-level information they handle.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (myClothes does not sell personal information).
- Be free from discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
10. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under GDPR including:
- Legal Basis: Personal data is processed based on (a) your consent, (b) performance of the App's services, or (c) legitimate interests in keeping the App functional and secure.
- Data Subject Rights: Access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability.
- Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to file a complaint with a data protection authority in your country.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
